With the synergy and joint work of researchers, clinicians and SMEs the project aim to have a significant step forward in this area of public health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The objectives of the project are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>to fill a void in the neonatal intensive care, where there aren\u2019t any reliable tools to assess the brain blood flow and oxygenation in infants born prematurely<\/li><li>to monitor non-operative oxygenation and cerebral hemodynamics in premature infants<\/li><li>to provide a precise, non-invasive and robust integrated system is the key to enable neonatologists to prevent neurological damages due to lack of oxygenation in the brain<\/li><li>to extend the prototype to the level of demonstrator, bridging the gap between research products and commercialization<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The main goal of BabyLux is to diminish the risk of brain lesions in extremely preterm babies from 25% to 20%, eventually reducing the number of children with disabilities by more than 1,000 per year in Europe alone.
